Many K-Pop fans believe that debut idols keep getting younger and younger; however, debuting idols at shockingly young ages is not entirely uncommon. For example, Taemin was famously 14 years old when he debuted with SHINee, while Sulli, who had already debuted as an actress at 11, began her idol career with (f)x when she was just 15. These days, there are a growing number of idols debuting from the 2005 line, making them 14 or 15 years old. As children born under the Year of the Rooster, they are hardworking and talented, making it not too surprising how they came into such exciting careers at such a young age. So who are the ’05-liners of K-Pop? theQoos has rounded up some of our favorites here:
TREASURE’s So Junghwan (February 18)
Prior to debuting with TREASURE this past August, Junghwan was among the youngest YG Entertainment trainees on the survival program ‘YG Treasure Box,’ competing when he was only 13 years old. Now, Junghwan is the very first member seen in music videos for both ‘BOY’ and ‘I Love You.’

Rocket Punch’s Dahyun (April 29)
Dahyun debuted with Woollim Entertainment girl group Rocket Punch in August 2019, when she was only 14 years old! Prior to her debut, she had been a trainee under the agency for two years, proving her talent at a very young age. Fans can now check her out in the MV for the group’s latest single ‘Juicy’!

Weeekly’s Zoa (May 31)
Zoa debuted with Play M’s newest girl group Weeekly back in June — almost exactly one month after she turned 15! Her nickname among the members is ‘Giant Baby’ for her height (171 cm, 5’7), as not only is she the maknae, but she’s also among the tallest in the group.
P1Harmony’s Soul & Jongseob (February 1 & November 19)
Soul and Jongseob are the maknae line of FNC Entertainment boy group P1Harmony! Soul, who is half-Korean, half Japanese, gets his stage name from his Japanese name ‘Shota,’ which means ‘pure-souled child.’ As for Jongseob, he’s actually been famous since he was 11, having won ‘K-Pop Star 6’ as part of competing duo Boyfriend before joining YG and competing on ‘YG Treasure Box.’
ENHYPEN’s Official Twitter
ENHYPEN’s Niki (December 9)
Niki was first introduced to fans as a Japanese contestant on Mnet’s survival program ‘I-LAND,’ where he quickly won hearts with his precocious dance talent. When he was only 12 years old, he was active as a backup dancer for SHINee, and now, and 14, he is preparing to debut in ENHYPEN!
