The group has long been known for their impressive performance abilities on the Korean stage, but starting in 2017, the group rapidly became a hit on the U.S. stage as well — blowing up in a way similar to ‘Dynamite’ itself! 1. ‘Dynamite’ – 2021 Grammy Music Awards

BTS made history as the first Asian act to be nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group, and while they unfortunately didn’t win, their huge performance of ‘Dynamite’ on the Grammys grabbed the attention of audiences around the world. The performance was prerecorded on the rooftop of a building in Seoul, showing an awesome view of the city skyline, including the famous Han River. After the ceremony, Jimin took to VLIVE to comfort fans by saying, “Don’t be sad. The future is more important.” And it’s true. This isn’t the end, ARMY!

2. ‘Idol’ – The Tonight Show’

Jimmy Fallon has long been one of America’s most-loved late night talk show hosts, and these days, he’s easily one of ARMY’s most-loved celebrity Jimin stans! BTS’s performance of ‘Idol’ on the show back in 2018 was a huge hit with international fans. The amount of them in the comment section for this video is proof, with a Korean user even commenting, “Finding someone using Hangeul in these comments is more difficult than finding a pearl in sand!”

3. ‘Mic Drop’ – ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’

‘Mic Drop’ is known for being one of the ‘most BTS-like’ singles from the group, which makes their dynamic performance of the song on ‘The Ellen Show’ back in 2017 even more memorable. Not only is the audience going wild, but we’re loving the part at the end when they drop a mic on the stage! 4. ‘DNA’ – 2017 American Music Awards

The explosive reaction of U.S. BTS ARMY during the 2017 AMAs had the Korean public absolutely stunned! The legendary performance is credited as the first time the nation realized just how popular BTS has become overseas. As of early 2021, the video of the performance has collected over 9.5 million YouTube views. To this day, listening to ‘DNA’ reminds us of this moment and actually gives us chills!

5. ‘Fake Love’ – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

By the time BTS performed the 2018 Billboard Awards, the reputation of their U.S. fans grew so big that host Kelly Clarkson prepared for their screaming fanchants with hilariously massive earmuffs. The performance was BTS’s very first for the single ‘Fake Love,’ and even though the song had not been out for long, it seemed every ARMY in the audience had well memorized the fan chant. BTS must have been SO proud!
