Being a girl group leader is not easy! Not only are these ladies in charge during promotions, but they also take on leadership roles between activities and even in everyday dorm life. Leaders are influential and set the direction and tone of the group, and when it comes to the current generation, these ladies are not only responsible, but incredibly fierce!

Which female idols made the list of theQoos’ fiercest group leaders? Check out our picks below, then be sure to tell us who YOUR favorite is!

JYP Entertainment

TWICE’s Jihyo

Jihyo definitely earned her leader title! Not only did she join JYP Entertainment when she was only eight years old, but she was a trainee for an entire decade before finally making her debut through TWICE.

Not only is Jihyo a superb dancer and vocal talent, she also has penned a number of tracks for the group – including ‘Eye Eye Eyes,’ ’24/7,’ ‘Ho!,’ ‘Sunset,’ ‘Girls Like Us,’ ‘Get Loud,’ and ’21:29.’

Off The Record

IZ*ONE’s Eunbi

Finishing ‘Produce 48’ in 7th place might have made her an IZ*ONE member, but her stage experience (as both a dancer and former member of idol group Ye-A) and maternal affection scored her her position as leader.

Not only does she feel like ‘Mom’ to the other members, but among the trainees at her agency Woollim Entertainment, she is known for her warm and caring guidance.

Source Music

GFRIEND’s Sowon

While Sowon is well known for her sweet side, she is also known to ‘mean business’ when it comes to leading. During their appearance on ‘Idol Room,’ it was revealed that she has a tendency to scold – especially member Eunha!

However, the other GFRIEND members are big fans of their lovely leader. And when the ‘Idol Room’ MCs asked them to jokingly vote for a new one, Sowon was able maintain her position by winning over the majority.

Cube Entertainment

(G)I-DLE’s Soyeon

Soyeon’s natural talent and stage confidence makes her an obvious leader. Not only has she danced since elementary school, she had plenty of exposure prior to (G)I-DLE’s debut thanks both ‘Produce 101’ and ‘Unpretty Rapstar.’

In a ‘Star Road’ interview, the (G)I-DLE members revealed that they playfully refer to Soyeon as ‘Captain’ thanks to her fun yet authoritative leadership style. So cute!

WM Entertainment

Oh My Girl’s Hyojung

While many leaders are selected by how long they have been in the agency, Hyojung was only a six-month trainee at WM Entertainment when she debuted as Oh My Girl’s leader. Pretty impressive, don’t you think?

Hyojung’s known for being a hardworker and also a very talented singer, having been performing as a singer since the single digits. Prior to life as an idol, she even sang in her school choir for seven years!

JYP Entertainment

ITZY’s Yeji

From singing to rapping to dancing, there is nothing that ITZY’s ‘golden’ leader Yeji cannot do! In fact, when she participated on ‘The Fan,’ her JYP Entertainment senior 2PM’s Junho called her the agency’s “secret weapon.”

While Yeji is a leader that keeps the group organized, her energetic and warm personality also makes her a close and good friends to her fellow ITZY members. We love watching their chemistry on variety shows!
